Meeting Bill

September 2010
We were just standing in the right place at a rally for Ted when someone said "Come on, they need people in the VIP seating." We were in about the 2nd row for the speech, and when it was over, got to the fence just in time to ensure we would get a handshake and picture with President Clinton. Quinn was not thrilled with the crowd of people around her, but I think she'll treasure this picture some day. When Chris was deciding whether or not to work for Ted or at Amazon, my vote was for Ted because I thought we might be able to meet Barack Obama. That didn't happen, but...this was a close second. :)

Shaffer Family Fun!

June 2010 - We took our summer family vacation to Lake Cayuga in the Finger Lakes of NY with all the Shaffers! Grandma and Grandpa Shaffer rented a house on the lake and there was not much to do which was very relaxing, and a change of pace from the usual Shaffer family get togethers! We spent the time reading (Harry Potter for me), swimming, hiking, watching the World Cup hanging out. Quinn had a wonderful time. She loves being with her family. She wasn't so interested in getting in the lake, but she loved playing with the rocks and watching and feeding the fish.

Going to the Chapel

and I'm going to the flower girl...

Tim and Ellen's wedding was quite eventful. We were flying out on Friday morning. Wednesday night Quinn gets a stomach bug. Thursday night, Chris gets it. He is throwing up right until we get on the plane. Friday night, I get it and have to miss the rehearsal dinner. Miraculously, we were all better for the wedding. Quinn was a great flower girl. She walked down most of the aisle holding Aunt Carla's hand, but at the end she ran to her Grandma and said "I did it!" She danced the night away with anyone who wanted to dance with her!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!

Quinn had a wonderful Christmas! She got a play kitchen that she liked, but she was more taken with all her Elmo stuff!

OK - I'm crazy, and I'm going to play catch-up

It has been about one and a half years since I've blogged, but I really want to do this for Quinn the baby-to-be so I'm going to try and catch up! Forgive the seemingly outdated posts!

Here's a recent picture of Quinn
